DVT trigger code has changed

The EScro data collection screens currently guide clinicians to record read code 5858. – ‘Doppler studies’, followed up with ‘Doppler studies normal’ or ‘abnormal’ during the next 7 days, and this would normally complete a successful DVT claim.

However, we have become aware that 5858. – ‘Doppler studies’ is recorded for many patients who do not have a suspected DVT. For this reason the trigger code for DVT claims has been changed to 1JH.. – ‘Suspected DVT’. This read code is already available on the data collection screens, and please disregard instructions that indicate ‘Doppler studies’ should be recorded for claims.

The SV Tool has already been changed to reflect this.
